Notes: This class will take place at our building, but it will be in the conference room on the 2nd floor of Building A.

BLS/Heartsavers Instructor course. This class will provide you with all that is needed to attend the class and the paperwork to submit to your TC to become an American Heart Association instructor.  We do not guarantee acceptance to any TC, provide training videos, manikins, training AED, etc... It is the student's responsibility to align with a TC if we are not your TS. 

  1. After being accepted by an authorized AHA Training Center(TC) or Training Site(TS), complete an Instructor Candidate Application for the Training Center before enrolling in an AHA Instructor Course.
  2. Have current AHA provider status in the discipline for that Instructor Course and be proficient in all the skills of that discipline. Disciplines include BLS and Heartsaver.
  3. Successfully complete the Instructor Essentials Course for the discipline for which you are becoming an Instructor, including both the online portion and the classroom/hands-on session.
  4. Successfully be monitored teaching within 6 months of completing the hands-on session of their Instructor Essentials Course (Training Center Coordinators may require additional monitoring if needed)

 

PLEASE DO NOT PAY FOR AN INSTRUCTOR ESSENTIALS COURSE ON THE AHA SITE. 

 
The Instructor Essentials is included in your registration. Please do not pay again. Once you receive your Instructor Manual, you will use the link in your confirmation to access the online portion. You may have to create an account, then GO BACK to this email and click it again to launch. It WILL NOT auto-launch. 
IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY PURCHASED THE BLS INSTRUCTORS ESSENTIALS ON-LINE PRECOURSE WORK, PLEASE ADD IT HERE. Also, please choose if you want your instructor manual in an eBook OR a traditional paper manual. DO NOT ADD BOTH MANUALS.
