BLS Course Description

​This is the most common kind of CPR certification needed by Healthcare Professionals. 

Healthcare professionals include, but are not limited to, the following: Doctors, Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, Medical Assistants, Physician Assistants, Respiratory Therapists, Phlebotomy Technicians, Electrocardiogram Technicians, or any other ancillary healthcare practitioners who work in a clinical setting or hospital. 

Please consult with any employer and/or your accreditation institution that oversees your credentials as to which class is required for your licensure / certification. 

BLS for the Healthcare Provider Objectives: 
  • Critical concepts for high quality CPR for the adult, child, and infant
  • Relief of choking for the adult, child, and infant
  • Use of the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Rescue Breathing / Intro to CPR with an advanced airway
  • Use of the Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM)
  • 1 and 2 rescuer CPR for the adult, child, and infant

A 25 question multiple choice a test is administered after the completion of class. 
A passing score of 84% or better is required before your card can be issued. 
A successful Skills Test is required to complete this class. 


Students will receive an American Heart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider eCard at the end of class after successfully completing the test and all Skills Stations.

BLS Renewal Course Description

BLS Provider Blended e-Learning uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills.

After completing the online portion, students attend a structured BLS Blended e-Learning Skills which is a h
ands-on session with an AHA Instructor.

Friends and Family Course Description

Community CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. This course is ideal for schools and students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life. This class is in-person at our facility.

These classes are offer about 1-2 times per month, but we will create one for your group if you'd like.

Content in course covered:
  • Child CPR
  • Infant CPR
  • Child infant relief of choking
THIS CLASS IS NOT FOR STUDENTS WHO NEED A "CPR CARD"
 
Each registration is good for up to 2 students.

The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course is designed specifically for workers with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as correctional officers, childcare workers, security guards, maintenance workers, school personnel, hotel housekeepers, health and fitness club staff and tattoo artists. This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. Upon completion of the online course, students receive a course completion certificate that can be presented to employers. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.

 Course Overview

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED blended learning course trains students to identify and respond to various first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. This course is ideal for those needing certification to meet OSHA workplace or other regulatory standards. Delivered in a blended format, students must complete the online portion—accessible on mobile desktop, or tablet—before participating in the instructor-led skills session. Successful completion of the course grants a valid two-year digital certificate in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED.

Step 1. You will receive an email containing the direct link to the online portion once registration is complete. PLEASE EMAIL US IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE THE REGISTRATION EMAIL WITHIN 24 HOURS.

Step 2. Compete the ONLINE course PRIOR to the in-person skills session. Compete at your own pace!

Step 3. Attend the IN-PERSON hands-on skills session.

You can purchase the current 2020 edition of any American Heart Association student manual for courses offered if you did not already add it to your original appointment. Simply find the student manual you are looking for, add that book to your order, then complete the registration section. 

If your class is scheduled within 7 days of your order, your book may not be delivered in time. All books may be picked up in our office during regular business hours. Please call our office to ensure your successful pickup time and date. (630) 309-4009

No Rescheduling past 6PM the night BEFORE of your original class. 

As per policy, rescheduling fees will be assessed when necessary. In order to reschedule your course you must complete the following registration form with payment.

Course spaces are limited. Your course will not be rescheduled to your desired date until this payment has been submitted.
